National Cheerleader of the Year Scholarship

Cheerleading scholarships are not easy to find sometimes, and typically to be eligible for a cheerleading college scholarship, you must already be accepted to a school, and have made the cheerleading team before you are eligible for cheer scholarships offered by the school. However, there are a few cheerleader scholarships that are available through various organizations, such as the National Cheerleader of the Year Scholarship Competition.

The National Cheerleader of the Year Scholarship Competition, or NCYSC, is very tough to get, but the competition is open to all cheerleaders who are currently juniors or seniors in high school. The student must be carrying at least a 3.0 GPA. Additionally, the cheerleader who hopes to win this competition must also have notable leadership qualities and a strong background in community service.

Naturally, the student must be very talented as well. In fact, the NCYSC states that the student must have top level talent. After all, the student isn’t just winning a scholarship; he or she is also being named as the National Cheerleader of the Year. It is important to note that the student does not apply for a scholarship in this instance, nor does a student nominate his or her self for the competition. Instead, the cheerleader must be nominated by someone else, such as a cheerleading coach.

It is also important to note that coaches or anyone else who makes nominations are not limited to just one nomination. For example, a coach can opt to nominate all of the members on the cheerleading squad – but there can only be one winner, and each year, there is a deadline for nominations, which is typically the last day of the year, December 31st.

Once a cheerleader has been nominated, they will receive a nomination packet from the NCYSC. Inside the packet, the student will find explicit instructions for accepting the nomination. The student must follow these instructions so that the nomination is properly accepted. This takes the student to stage two of the competition process.

In Stage Two of the process, the student must submit a portfolio to the NCYSC. Again, there are explicit instructions as to what should be included in the portfolio in the nomination packet, as well as how the portfolio is to be submitted. At this point, the National Selection Committee will select no more than 50 finalists. The committee does not have to select 50 finalists, however. They can opt to select fewer than 50.

The final step of the competition takes place in May of each year, at the National Cheer Conference, or CheerCon. A NCYSC cheerleading scholarship is awarded to the winner and the first runner up. The award amounts vary, but they are never less than $1500. The winner of the competition is expected to make appearances throughout the competition season at numerous competitions.

Although there is stiff competition for the National Cheerleader of the Year Scholarship, never assume that you couldn’t win it. You may surprise yourself, and as a college bound student, you should take advantage of every scholarship opportunity that comes your way and not just a cheerleading scholarship.

While there are a few good private and national organization cheerleader scholarships available, the best cheerleading scholarships come from colleges and universities, where the student has tried out for and attained a spot on the cheerleading team or squad. This is evident in the Northwestern Oklahoma A&M College Norse Star and Cheer Teams Scholarships Program.

These college scholarships for cheerleading are available only to members of either the Norse Star Team or the Cheer Teams at the college, and they provide recipients with a full waiver of tuition for 32 credit hours each year that you are enrolled in the college, and on the cheerleading squad. It is important to note that this waiver of fees does not include a waiver of fees, such as lab fees.

The scholarships do, however, also include a book scholarship. This is a very big deal due to the cost of required books for college. However, you need to understand that this is actually a book loan program, and the books must be returned at the end of each semester. The student is only eligible for this book program, as a part of their cheer scholarship award, if they are carrying a 3.0 GPA or better.

If you show financial need, and there are rooms available, your scholarship will also provide you with a room waiver, so that you do not have to pay for your dorm room. This is another huge savings for college students. If the student is coming to the college from out of state, and there is a financial need, out-of-state tuition waivers are also available.

It is important to understand, that there is no application process to win one of these cheerleading college scholarships. All members of the Norse Star and Cheer Teams at the college are automatically qualified and automatically receive these cheer scholarship awards. However, there is an enrollment form that needs to be completed, as well as housing applications. These forms are available at the college, through the Scholarship Office.

Again, if you’ve made the team, you have essentially already won the college cheerleader scholarship. It is important to note that if you want to take advantage of the housing portion of the scholarship program, and you have financial need, you need to fill out the form for housing as early as possible, since rooms that are covered by the scholarship program are very limited.

You must, however, work to remain eligible for the award. You are required to attend all practices, all games, all competitions, and any other performances that your cheer team participates in. You must also carry at least a 2.0 GPA, and you must be enrolled for 12 semester credit hours each semester to remain eligible.

While you may be eligible for, and win additional cheerleading scholarships, as you can see, the best scholarships for cheerleading really do come from the school that you will be attending, for which you will also be on the cheerleading squad. In the case of the Northwestern Oklahoma A&M College Norse Star and Cheer Teams Scholarships, you only need to make one of the cheer teams to win a scholarship.

If you are searching for a good colleges that offer great cheerleading scholarships, you may not have to look any further than Carl Albert State College in Oklahoma. Each year, the school awards 19 cheerleading scholarships, and one team mascot scholarship.

These cheerleading scholarship awards pay full tuition, covering twelve to sixteen hours per semester, as well as the cost of textbooks. Because there are 19 cheerleading scholarships available each year and there are usually only eighteen cheerleaders on the squad, this is a good indication that there is an alternate, who is also awarded a scholarship, and that every cheerleader on the squad is also awarded a scholarship. This is a very big deal, because it means that financial need is not taken into account in getting a cheerleading scholarship through the Carl Albert State College Athletic Department.

Of course, what it does mean is that you need to make the cheerleading squad. Tryouts are held each April at the college, and there is a $10 registration fee that is due when you arrive for the tryouts. You must also arrive with proof that you will soon be graduating from high school, that you have already graduated from high school, or that you have a GED. You must also show proof of health insurance coverage before you will be allowed to try out, and if you are under the age of eighteen, you must additionally have a medical release form signed by your parent or guardian. Don’t bother showing up for the tryouts without these items, as you will not be allowed to participate at all without them.

Also note that tryouts cover about three days – usually a weekend. During this time, there is a clinic, and there will be cuts made during the clinic, before the final tryouts begin. During the tryouts, you must work hard for those coveted cheerleader scholarships. You will be expected to perform a series of jumps that include the toe touch, double toe touch, the herkie, the hurdler, and the pike.

You must also successfully perform various stunts that include toss to Liberty variation, toss to Shoulder stand, a one arm stunt, full down from a heel stretch, and one optional stunt. A stunt partner will be provided to you for this portion of the tryouts, however, male stunt partners can only be used as partners for four different females for the duration of the tryouts.

Naturally, tumbling is a part of the tryout process as well, and too often, this is the road block between you and your cheerleading scholarship. You will be required to perform three passes that contain four tricks. You will have to do a round-off back handspring back tuck, a standing back, standing two handsprings to full, and a toe touch back tuck. Make sure that you not only know what the judges are expecting from you, but that you are able to perform these tumbling skills.

Finally, in order to try out for the squad, and to attain a spot on the team, with the cheerleading scholarship that comes with the position, you absolutely must adhere to the clothing regulations for tryouts. Men should wear polo shirts with athletic shorts and proper athletic shoes, and women must wear a sports bra, soffee style athletic shorts, and cheer shoes.

Each year, one member of the Indiana All-State Academic Cheer Team receives a $1000 cheerleading scholarship for college. There are two opportunities each year to compete for this cheerleader scholarship – in the fall, at the State Championships, and in the spring, at the All-State Academic Cheer Team competition. If you are a senior cheerleader in Indiana, it is important that you participate in these competitions – especially if you plan to attend college and have financial need.

The Indiana All-State Academic Cheer Team Scholarship is awarded to a high school senior, who must be a cheerleader, and must participate in at least one of the competitions. Because the cheer scholarship is awarded through the competitions, winners are obviously chosen based on their cheerleading talent alone. Financial need and academics do not play a role.

However, you must realize that in order to accept the university cheerleading scholarship, you must have plans to attend college, and of course the necessary grades to get into the college of your choice. This actually serves to prepare you for the competitions that will be held when you are a senior, again increasing your chances of walking away with the scholarship for cheeerleading awarded by the Indiana All-State Academic Cheer Team.

Because college scholarships for cheerleading really are scarce, most cheerleaders select colleges and universities that offer great scholarships through the athletic program – especially those colleges that automatically award their cheerleaders with easy scholarships. While this isn’t the case for all colleges and universities, there are several that are popular choices for cheerleaders, because of the easy scholarship opportunities.

The University of Florida is one such college. The school offers partial scholarships for tuition for their Orange and Blue Cheerleading Squads each semester. Not all cheerleaders will get easy scholarships, however, as these are awarded based on financial need, academic achievement, and the number of years that you have been on one of the cheerleading squads.

Another popular school for cheerleading scholarships is Louisiana State University, or LSU. The school does not, however, refer to these as easy scholarships. Instead, they are referred to as Financial Service Awards. Cheerleaders are awarded with these financial awards based on the cheer squad that they are on and how many years you have been on the squad. The cheerleader scholarships are determined and awarded by the spirit director and the cheerleading coach.

Waldorf College in Iowa offers easy scholarships to all of their cheerleaders, after they have made the squad, however the amount of your scholarship will be based on your skill, your financial need, and your ACT or GPA scores. Likewise, Marion University in Indiana also offers scholarships to each of their cheerleaders, providing that the cheerleaders meet all of the cheerleading requirements throughout the season, and providing that each individual cheerleader’s financial aid package has room for the scholarship.

The University of Hawaii is another popular school, with a great scholarship opportunity for cheerleaders. The school annually awards between twelve and fourteen scholarships to cheerleaders. These easy scholarships cover full tuition for in state and out of state students.

Gadsden State Community College in Alabama awards ten college cheerleading scholarships annually. Each cheer scholarship is non-renewable, but returning cheerleaders are eligible to try out for the scholarships each year that they are on the squad. These easy scholarships for cheerleaders cover tuition and books, but do not include fees or housing.

Finally, Fort Hays University in Kansas can get dorm scholarships in the amount of $1000. This is to help pay for housing only. There are numerous colleges and universities that have such housing easy scholarships for their cheerleaders. Furthermore, most of the universities these days also provide cheerleaders with their uniforms, pom-poms, and all other gear associated with cheerleading, including outfits for camps, and camp fees, as well as transportation costs to camps and competitions.

Cheerleading isn’t just fun. It can also open doors to paying for your higher education, and all cheerleaders should look into the possibilities and opportunities that are available to them, starting with the specific college that they plan to attend. Remember, however, that the easy scholarships that are available for cheerleaders through the school are only available to those who are actually a member of the cheerleading squad – so you do have to try out and make the squad before you will be eligible for the available university cheerleading scholarships.

If you are a cheerleader, and you plan to attend the University of Kentucky, make sure that you try out for the cheerleading squad at the University. This will make you eligible for college cheerleading scholarships offered through the athletics department at the college. In fact, the program consists of many different cheerleader scholarships that are available for cheerleaders.

For example, the Blue Squad usually has twenty one members, and sixteen of those members will receive scholarships. The amounts of the cheer scholarships vary, but are usually the same amount as in-state tuition for a full time student. The amount, however, does not account for fees. Although the student can expect to have enough from the scholarship to cover their tuition, the actual amounts are determined by funds received through the President’s Office and the Athletics Association.

University cheerleading scholarships are also awarded through the Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McCracken, Jr. Cheerleading Scholarship Endowment fund. The amount and number of cheerleader scholarships available each year are determined by the interest that the fund has earned in the previous year, as this is how the program is funded. The awards are made on academic performance, and are only available to cheerleaders, whether they are on the Blue Squad or the White Squad. Most years, two University of Kentucky scholarships are awarded from this fund – one for a male and one for a female, and typically the male and female with the highest grade point average win these cheerleader scholarships. Additional scholarships are awarded through this fund as well, to cheerleaders who have at least a 3.0 GPA, although these awards are far less than the two main awards.

Cheerleaders at the college can also receive scholarships through the Bill Blount, Jr. Memorial Endowment. This endowment just gives one cheer scholarship per year, and that scholarship goes to the cheerleader who has the greatest financial need, as reflected through records kept at the Financial Aid Office.

There are additional private funds that come from individual donors for five or six other scholarships for cheerleading. These University of Kentucky scholarships are awarded in amounts ranging from $1000 to $1500, and again, they are only awarded to cheerleaders. The cheerleading coach recommends students for these awards, and consideration is given to financial need, as well as payment of out-of-state tuition.

It is important to know that none of the U of K scholarships that are offered through the various cheerleader funds at the University of Kentucky will exceed the cost of the student’s tuition, including room and board. This means that even if you win multiple scholarships through the school, the total amount of all scholarships combined will not be more than your tuition, room, and board.

As with most other cheerleading scholarships that are awarded by colleges and universities, you must make the cheerleading squad in order to be eligible for these awards. Furthermore, you must meet the eligibility requirements for the University of Kentucky to try out for the squad as well. So, if you’ve got what it takes to be a University of Kentucky Cheerleader, and you need help paying for college, make sure that you meet the eligibility requirements for trying out, and find out when and where tryouts will be held as soon as possible.

While Wallace State Community College in Alabama may not be a well known school, it could be a place to get started – especially if you want or need college cheerleading scholarships. At Wallace State Community College, cheerleading isn’t only considered a sport, it is considered to be a scholarship program as well. All cheerleaders who make the squad are awarded cheer scholarships, but there are two levels of cheerleading financial aid scholarships available to cheerleaders.

The first level of cheerleader scholarships at Wallace is the full athletic scholarships. These scholarships cover all tuition, books, and fees. The second level is the full tuition cheerleader scholarship, which just covers tuition and fees. Cheer scholarships are awarded based on availability, financial need, and scores.

The cheerleader scholarship program at Wallace goes a bit further by providing all of their cheerleaders with uniforms, practice clothing, the cost of camps and competitions, and travel expenses that are related to cheerleading. Any other costs, which are associated with your cost as a cheerleader, are also covered by the school.

Cheerleaders at Wallace are also required to show academic excellence. For this reason, cheerleaders and other athletes at the school are provided with tutors, free of charge, as they are needed. Grades are monitored by the athletic department, and if grades start to fall, the athletic department steps in to help. Cheerleaders are also provided with assistance with class scheduling problems, and are excused from classes during athletic events that they are required to attend, without penalty. However, class work that is missed must of course be made up.

Furthermore, cheerleaders have access to top facilities at the school, with access to the weight and training rooms, the video rooms, a practice room with mirrored walls, and a full size competition floor.

Of course, before you can have access to all of these things, including the cheerleading scholarships at Wallace State Community College in Alabama, you will have to make the squad. Cheerleader tryouts typically occur in April of each year, and all those who want to try out for the squad must attend a mandatory clinic for approximately three days prior to the tryout. Although the clinic is not the official tryout, the coach often makes cuts during this period, weeding out those who do not show the level of skill that is desired, or the right attitude or behavior to represent the school.

Finally, during tryouts, you must show a variety of mandatory skills, which include a standing back handspring, standing back tuck, and more. Make sure that you visit the website well in advance of the clinic and tryouts to find out what the mandatory skills are before planning to attend the tryouts.

At the end of the tryouts, there will be 24 cheerleaders ready to cheer the various Wallace State Community College athletic teams on to victory, and all twenty four of those cheerleaders will be receiving the college cheerleading scholarships.

Even if South Plains College in Texas isn’t your first choice for college, it is definitely worth looking into if you are a cheerleader, and in need of cheerleading scholarships. The school awards twelve university cheerleading scholarships, in the amount of $2000 each, each year. In fact, because of the outstanding performances of the SPC Texan Cheerleaders at competitions, many cheerleaders choose South Plains College as their first choice school.

Unfortunately, not all cheerleaders on the squad are awarded cheer scholarships. Instead, the cheerleaders who win the scholarship awards are actually selected by a panel of judges after they have participated in a cheerleading workshop conducted by the school. All cheerleaders are eligible for the scholarships, however, including incoming freshmen.

In addition to the twelve cheerleading scholarships that are awarded, South Plains College also provides all of their cheerleaders with uniforms and shoes, pom-poms, travel bags, and warm up outfits. Furthermore, the school also pays all of the expenses for the summer cheerleading camp that the cheerleaders are expected to attend.

Of course, regardless of whether you receive one of the twelve cheerleading scholarships or not, as a cheerleader for South Plains College, a great deal is expected of you. The school views cheerleaders as ambassadors of the school. For this reason, those cheerleaders are held to a higher standard than other students, in terms of their behavior and conduct.

Additional cheerleading requirements at South Plains College include being a full time student at the college, enrollment in the cheerleading class that is required to meet four times each week, maintaining a 2.50 GPA each semester, attending all games and other events where the cheerleaders are required to attend, pass random drug tests, show good sportsmanship at all times, and of course, to always have a positive attitude.

If you want to be a Texan Cheerleader, it is a good idea to take a look at the current cheerleading squad at SPC. Pay special attention to the high school achievements of the first year cheerleaders. What is quite noticeable is that most of the first year cheerleaders have many things in common, such as being on the honor roll or being members of the National Honor Society. They have also won numerous cheerleading awards and recognitions in high school, such as All-American Cheerleader.

Also note that the cheerleaders who are returning, and are at least sophomores in college, also have many similarities, such as being members of the National Honor Society. By looking at this information, you will see that there really is a high standard for cheerleaders at SPC, and you need to make sure that you hold yourself to that same high standard before you tryout if you hope to succeed as a SPC Texan Cheerleader – and if you want one of those cheerleading scholarships.

At SPC, it isn’t just about cheerleading. It is about cheering, promoting a positive attitude, learning about nutrition and proper personal healthcare, and so much more. Cheerleaders at SPC are expected to have well rounded college lives, following well rounded high school careers, so that they are fully prepared to live full and well rounded lives past college.

While many individual colleges and universities in the state of Michigan offer scholarships for cheerleading, there are two additional cheerleading scholarships in the state of Michigan that you may want to be aware of. These are the Competitive Cheer Coaches Association of Michigan Cheerleading Scholarships and the Michigan High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete Award. If you are a cheerleader, you need to apply for both scholarships.

The Competitive Cheer Coaches Association of Michigan awards approximately fourteen scholarships each year in amounts of $2500, $2000, and $1500. Winners can use the cheer scholarships at the college or university of their choice, and the school does not have to be in the state of Michigan. However, to be eligible, the student must be attending a high school in the state. The number of awards given out each year varies, based on available funds.

In order to be eligible for a CCCAM cheerleading scholarship, you must have at least a 3.5 GPA through the end of your junior year of high school. This means that your GPA from your freshman through your junior year must be an average of 3.5. You must also currently be a member of the Michigan High School Athletic Association competitive cheer team, and a senior in high school – in Michigan, of course.

Additionally, your coach must also be a current member of the CCCAM, and your cheerleading squad or team must compete in the annual Scholarship Invitational in the year that you are competing for the cheerleaders scholarship. You must complete the scholarship application, and it must be submitted with a sealed copy of your high school transcript. You must also provide two letters of recommendation, and you will have to write a personal essay.

The other Michigan cheerleading scholarships you should compete for are the MHSAA’s Scholar-Athlete Award. The number of awards available changes from year to year, based on available funds, but approximately thirty are awarded each year. These awards are funded by Farm Bureau Insurance, and are available to high school seniors who participate in MHSAA approved sports.

The student must meet four requirements. The student must be enrolled in Interscholastic Athletics at a school that is a member of the MHSAA. The student must be a high school senior, and the student must have won a varsity letter from their school before their senior year, in an approved sport, which includes cheerleading. The student must also have a 3.5 GPA.

The MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award amount is $1000 per winner, and when combined with the CCCAM cheerleading scholarships, you could have approximately $3500 to put towards your college education. Again, it will also be important that you apply for any university cheerleading scholarships that are available through the college that you will be attending; however those cheer scholarships are usually only awarded after you’ve made the cheerleading squad or team at that college or university. Again, you should note that these two cheerleader scholarships do not require you to participate in cheerleading or any other sport in college. The committees are only interested in your participation in the sport of cheerleading during your high school years.

If you are a cheerleader in a New Jersey high school, you may be eligible for the New Jersey Cheerleading and Dance Coaches Association Scholarship. This cheerleading scholarship awards varying amounts each year to the winners of the scholarships for cheerleaders, but it is usually more than $1500.

It is important to note that in order to be eligible for the NJCDCA Cheerleading Scholarship your school must be a member of the NJCDCA. If your school is not a member, you might want to talk to your cheerleading coach, or other school officials to encourage them to become a member – which is really as simple as filling out a short form and paying a small fee for membership.

You also need to have a clear understanding of how recipients are selected for this college cheerleading scholarship. This recognition is based on academic performance and achievement, as well as athletic excellence in dance or cheerleading. This means that you need to be a good academic student, and a great cheerleader to qualify. You must also be a high school senior, currently on the cheerleading squad.

The deadline for applying for this scholarship for cheerleading varies each year, but typically occurs in March. There is no grace period, and any application that is received after the deadline will not be considered. It is also important to note that incomplete applications will not be considered as well. A complete application is one that has an application form completely filled out, a high school transcript, a personal essay, and a coach’s recommendation form. If your application lacks any of these things, you will not be considered.

It is also important to note that the application, transcript, and the personal essay should all be submitted together, but the NJCDCA suggests that the coach submit the coach’s recommendation form separately. The student will never see what was written on the coach’s recommendation form, and this information will never be shared with any other person or entity, other than the selection committee.

The number of cheer scholarships that are given out each year also varies, and is usually based on the funds that are available. It is very important to realize, however, that there is no cheerleading competition involved with the selection. You do not have to be a cheerleader in college to qualify for this scholarship either – or even try out for the college team. You are not limited to which college or university you will attend as long as it is in the United States.

What all of this really means is that you need a strong academic record, and a good relationship with your cheer coach, but if you have won awards and competitions as a cheerleader, this will be very beneficial to you as well, when the selection committee starts looking at your application. They take individual awards as well as team awards into consideration. Extracurricular activities, as well as community based activities and service are also considered for the NJCDCA Cheerleading Scholarship.
