I have a 15 year old daughter, she is on the Varsity team and the competition team at Meek High School, they have won back to back State, Reginals, and 3rd in the nation. We are on our way to Florida( Disney World to win Nationals) in Feburary, She has been cheering since toy bowl, she has been All Star at the University Of Alabama Cheer Camp for two years. She is very talented,and sweet. My question? is there a summer camp, or a training that she can attend to get her ready for college?

HAWAWU, look into the Pell grant first and read up on FAFSA too. Read up on easy scholarships and unknown scholarship ideas. No co-signer student loans as a last resort for this year which are great government loans for students.

reading our website will give you a good understanding on cheer scholarships and other ideas too. Cheer scholarships are given to those who try out for the teams and make them. So looking into other student aid options are a good idea such as grants and other scholarships as well ie…poetry scholarships for instance. If your are an accomplished cheerleader though with many awards and you tryout you may indeed land a cheer scholarship. Your best plan of action is to have a portfolio ready and go set appointments with individual cheer coaches at colleges you may be interested in attending and have a personal tryout. Far fetched – not really – cheer coaches may feel that this is what cheerleaders are really made of!
